Tony
A lot of people with degrees at big schools don't use them or can't (Lack of work).... I mean I dont mean the Community Colleges will give you better luck (Supersistion is a sin hehehe), but it will sure not have as much burden on your wallet.. and who knows.. it just might work out for youj. (prays) If someone thinks you are a bum for going to one of these schools.. tough cookies for them. They can take their "holier than thou" attitude.. and... well I think you have an idea what I want to ay here haha
Era Might
But see I hate that. I hate that the view of community college is that it is people who have messed up and are making things better. It's for people who need lesser work or to learn english or something. It's not that at all! Some of us are paying for college on our own and can't afford university. Some of us don't know what the heck we want to do so instead of going to a university we go to community college. Some people go because they aren't ready to leave home. *sigh* i hate the negative connotations.
That's not all it is, no. The atmosphere might be different depending on the location. At the community college I went to (Bunker Hill), there is a significant population of later-in-life students and immigrants or those who never received a decent education. I don't see that as negative at all. In fact, having worked on regular college campuses fixing computers, I felt awkward in the environment. The whole feel is just elitist and care-free. But you're right, there are all kinds of people who go to community college. I actually had a Franciscan Friar in a philosophy class I took. They wanted him to take some courses before he went on to study theology. Edited January 5, 2006 by Era Might

franciscanheart
aside from weird, it is an awesome testimony to the practicality of community colleges :
