Colleen
In my humble opinion, the restoration of Gregorian Chant will result in increased Mass attendence. The sense of the sacred will draw the lost sheep home. INXC Myles
I think you're right about that. son_of_angels
Gregorian chant is like singing a kid's melody! :
Clearly you've never chanted a Gradual from the Liber Usualis. I remember reading one textbook on this subject, which basically said that, among all types of church music throughout the world (Orthodox, etc.) Gregorian chant requires the clearest and most perfect voice, and perfect breath control. qfnol31
I never said it was easy. : The melody is like a child's, but that doesn't make it very simple. I'm not sure whence all our music is...we use a liber cantualis though.

Apotheoun
Yes, but there hasn't been any great revival of Gregorian chant in Roman Churches in the United States.
Nihil Obstat
I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely DO NOT want to hear my church's choir on a normal day trying to sing a proper chant. I'm not against it, but I'm relatively sure a large portion of them would be.
