Typically lib respose... Conservatives free the people of Iraq and we are evil ha! Conservaties see to it justice is served against Child rapist and murders and we are evil. Were as Libs give aid and want to be friends with terrorist. Libs want to murder innocent babes, yet protect evil men that murder innocent people.

Plus you seem to know VERY little about the "dark ages" it was Holy Mother Church with the Light of Christ that lead us out of the Dark Ages get it right man! Actually, It was the Church that was making all the scientific advances, and its the Church that still holds all the history of western Civilization. It wasnt until after States began to resist the Church that they had problems.

I appreciate your enthusiasm here, but it is really inaccurate and anachronistic to portray the War Between the States as a matter of "Conservative Republicans" vs. "Liberal Democrats." The South and the Democrats were the more conservative group at the time. The North and the Republicans were for big government and the increase of Federal power, while the Confederacy was built on the older idea of State's rights, and was more traditional. The Republicans were the "progressive" party of the day.

The Democrats and Republicans on the 1860s have very little to do with these parties' current positions. (Note that now the South tends to vote more Republican than the North).
