Mercy me
Growing up I always called them crayfish until.... I went to college in New Orleans. They call them crawfish down there in the Cresent City. And boy do they know how to cook them! My favorite is a nice crawfish etouffee. Oh yeah, I eat the tails and can smell of elderberries the heads. I must admit that I prefer to just eat the tails. We even provided voices for each crayfish. Yeah, I had a weird childhood... [/quote] We did that too. It's not weird. Tindomiel
Why would anyone call a crayfish "Bob"? It doesn't go well with their angular structure.

stbernardLT
The town I live in in South Louisiana (Breaux Bridge) is called the Crawfish Capital of the World. And we have a Crawfish Festival every year. I grew catching crawfish with my Dad. It used to be a pretty decent living.
