I had a friend in highschool who would say the funniest things during lunch but only when (not on purpose) I was taking a drink of my POP (not soda). I would start laughing and try not to spit it up, I hated/loved her for that.

Well I'm just saying I thought it was kind of sad the Faith Luthern pastor looked more like a priest than the other priest did. Though the media could have mixed the two up, which I pray they did, but I don't think they did.

I'm not calling em' out, I'm just pointing it out.

I think a priest should always wear black. If your going to take on celibacy for the sake of the kingdom, be bold, witness to the love of Christ. When I'm a priest, I'll be beyond black, I'll be wearing black, a clerical shirt underneath my black cassock!

Nah, I escaped from Steubie at the end of last year and switched schools...

(it's sort of a joke from one of the other FUS threads... Bro. Adam POSSIBLY saw me for like 5 seconds once in the library... and I never went to anything while I was at FUS so I never met any PMers... but then in one of the recent FUS threads Bro. Adam said he was going to "be shy like Fides" and then he posted a picture of Smeagol a few posts later. I guess we can put two and two together to see his impression of me... :P: )

(all in jest, all in jest)

Of course they should always wear black, but in reality there will be a day or two when they don't. I'm pretty sure there are quite a few priests who own non-black clothing and actually wear them. ;) One day or a couple is not a problem. Its in most cases being understanding since you don't know what their particular day has been like.

In fact the priest I know for always wearing his cassock, has worn non-black clothing before. And I don't remember his messege changing during that time because of it. Not saying it should become the norm, (in fact if a priest knows he will be seen and is out in public thats the most important time to be wearing a collar) but we're just looking at the exceptions here.

um eddie, the Catholic Church needs priests who are not baked. You will bake if you wear both of those.

I was introduced to this lovely phrase this past summer by a woman from Wisconsin. Has there been a poll bubbler? drinking fountain? water fountain? That'd be a good one.

[quote name='jezic' date='Dec 14 2005, 09:05 PM']Chrismatics aren't a bad thing either. Some take it to far, but there is a definite power of the Spirit that we need to rediscover.

so long as they aren't smacking me in the face at Mass to find Him, or "inventing" during the Liturgy in the name of the Holy Spirit... then I don't mind.

The Holy Spirit is a Great and Wonderful Person, and everyone should be filled with the Holy Spirit. One doesn't need to go waving their arms and babbling gibberish to demonstrate such fullness of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is peace, not ADD.

What next.... stop and go lights?!?!?!?!

Or even worse....

"Nice job on the beaver dam, ga-yees."

*shudders*

I would expect a "You bet" out of you as you give someone a "hot dish" or something along those lines... but bubblers?
