Lounge Daddy
While this type of NEWS is almost a yawner for those who know the truth about the war in Iraq (It really IS going well), the MSM is just now starting to catch on, finding itself surprised by some new revelations. I think JASON (From Generation Why) sums the story up best. So let's review that. In Iraq, 1. Most living conditions are rated positively, 2. 70f Iraqis say their own lives are going well, 3. Nearly 2/3 of Iraqis expect things to improve in the year ahead, 4. Over 60f Iraqis feel very safe in their own neighborhoods, 5. 61f Iraqis say local security is good, 6. Average household incomes have soared by 60n the last 20 months, 7. 70f Iraqis rate their own economic situation positively. Yet ABC News is "surprised". That is not surprising. Iacobus
Yes, but if you read the poll further, while they are hopeful people they really really really want the US to leave.

Lounge Daddy
Here is an ironic finding I brought back from Iraq. While U.S. public opinion polls show serious declines in support for the war and increasing pessimism about how it will end, polls conducted by Iraqis for Iraqi universities show increasing optimism. Two-thirds say they are better off than they were under Saddam, and a resounding 82% are confident their lives in Iraq will be better a year from now than they are today. What a colossal mistake it would be for America's bipartisan political leadership to choose this moment in history to lose its will and, in the famous phrase, to seize defeat from the jaws of the coming victory.
-- JOE LIEBERMAN: America can't abandon 27 million Iraqis to 10,000 terrorists.
