Slash is a category of fan fiction. (Fan fiction = amateur stories based on other people's characters.)

Except...

Except the slash stories are, ah, explicit romances between, um, two otherwise normal male characters.

The most famous category of slash is Kirk/Spock. The "/" is what makes it "slash".

This probably is less disturbing to learn about in a web forum context. Unlike when I was sitting late at night in a resort on an island with a group of writers... and learned that many of them read and write this stuff!

Oddly (?), it's written by women, for women.

Ugh, slash, I have no idea what other women find in that kind of filth. I think Harry Potter slash fiction is even more disturbing considering the ages (many have a professor involved).

It is sad that hollywood has to continue to trip and rip apart what is left of morality in our country. They give us this "tragic love" story and expect us to swallow it whole. And sadly a whole bunch of people did.

it is nominated for 9 emmys (i think those are the movie ones) already and there might be more coming.
