I'll post my case for Delaware later, but first, here's some neat tid-bits of each state:

Delaware - Is centrally located in the "BosWash megapolis", right below Philadelphia. The Diocese of Wilmington (which covers the entire state, and the eastern shores of Maryland and Virginia) has a rare and unique colonial-style(?) cathedral. Unfortunately, it's Catholic population (10%) isn't as high as Rhode Island's.

Rhode Island - Is in a nice location not far from Boston and NYC, and is located in the "BosWash megapolis". It also has the highest percentage of Catholics in the nation (52% Catholic)! Unfortunately, it's one of the most liberal states in the U.S., giving John Kerry more than a 20 percent margin of victory in the 2004 Presidental elections (third highest amongst the states).

A feature that is shared by both states, is the fact that they're so small, you can cover the entire state with no problem. Everything is relatively close (compared to other states), and it feels (at least when I lived in DE) like a "kingdom" or a large "colony". Not to mention, it gives bragging rights for being the two smallest states in the nation (which isn't a bad thing).

Every Christmas season, the Greater Wilmington area is flooded with people from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
