Fixxxer
A year ago today, this guitar hero and legend was shot and killed while playing in a concert with his band Damageplan in Columbus, OH, when "fan" Nathan Gale let out five shots into Dimebag after jumping onstage. That's the night we lost an innocent soul ? If you have any sort of heart or soul, pass this on in memory of a heavy metal legend, a soul, a person we will never forget. ? If you are a fan of Pantera, Damageplan, or both, pass this on in memory of a kickass guitar player ? If you miss the simplicity and energy of heavy metal and its true form of entertainment and escape, pass this on in memory of someone we lost in our heavy metal world ? If you want Nathan Gale to burn in eternal hell for what he did, pass this on in memory of a man whose mourning will overpower any feelings anyone will have of Nathan Gale. Pass it on because we miss Dimebag<

Snarf
Everyone insists they knew who Dimebag was before he was killed. Truth is, most people would have lived life without ever hearing Pantera were it not for the fact that they were always on Beavis and Butthead. I've heard remarks in the media varying from "good riddance" to "rock and roll is dead". It all just strikes me as so very fake and forced. In Pace Recesquiat. Leave it at that, please? Matty_boy
The only thing I know about Pantera is that the only people I have ever known that listen/ed to them were also the kids that smoked dope in the woods and played brass in the marching band. onathing1
I'm listening to Shinedown's live version of 'Simple Man' that they dedicated to Dimebag at their last concert.

Snarf
I enjoy good metal, and you can argue what that is but I have my own certain idea thereof. How many people are aware of what the name Pantera references? I'll give you a hint, it's something that wouldn't make Catholics happy.

Snarf
Fine. Pantera was a Legionaire in the Roman army, and I forget the exact story but I believe he was buried in Germany with a marker declaring he had a bastard son named Jesus in the Middle East. Fixxxer
I dont think thats where they got the name though, thats like KISS having their name mean knights in satans service.
Apollo
Pantera means "panther" in Spanish. That is how they got their name. Trust me, I know. Dimebag went to my high school and played at homecoming infront of a giant banner of a panther that said "Pantera" on it. I am not a fan of his music, but I am a fan of his skill as a musical artist. Most importantly, I am a fan of the right for all humans to be treated with dignity. Every life deserves respect, and no one deserves to have their life stolen from them as his was. May he rest in peace.
