1337 k4th0l1x0r
I think the dumbest law in Alabama is the thing they call the State Constitution. Have you read - or rather attempt to read or even look at - that thing?
Carrie
New York: From an AP bulletin: The New York City Transit Authority has ruled that women can ride the city subways topless. New York law dictates that if a man can be somewhere without a shirt, a woman gets the same right. The decision came after arrests of women testing the ordinance on the subways. A transit police spokesman said they would comply with the new rule, but "if they were violating any other rules, like sitting on a subway bench topless smoking a cigarette, then we would take action." Smoking is not allowed in the subways.

Not the New York thing but some girls were mad because most of the time guys don't get in trouble for wearing undershirts with nothing over them and girls that they should have the same right to walk around in their braws or undershirts if they wanted to. missionseeker
I think the dumbest law in Alabama is the thing they call the State Constitution. Today and yesterday I was at UA Youth summit. I voted to pass (mock,of course) legislation that would take all the statutory laws and put them in the CODE of AL rather than the Constitution, making it no longer the longest Constitution in the world. I also voted to pass a bill called "the Home Rule Act" which would give districts, counties, and cities the right to make their own decisions regarding matters in that area rather than having to take it to the state legislature then having to have a statewide vote on another ammendment to the State Constitution. Which for the most part is pretty hopeless of getting passed because A) Most people are already worried about the lenght of the Constitution and B) Most people in Alabama don't really care to look at ammendments that say something like "Pertaing to the pick up of Roadkill in the city of ______" State legislators spend over 50% of their time debating these kinds of things. I think AL is the only state where the state government controls the munincipalities'. Both of these bills passed in the "Summit". One of the bills that passed is going to be presented to Bob Riley. I don't know which one, though because I had to leave early.
missionseeker
Dominoes may not be played on Sunday. around here they break that every year. They have the WORLD Dominoe tournament during a weekend _________________________________________________ It is illegal to set a mousetrap without a hunting license. In Denver, it is unlawful to lend your vacuum cleaner to your next door neighbor. Idaho state law makes it illegal for a man to give his sweetheart a box of candy weighing less than fifty pounds. It's longer than the U.S. Constitiution.
It is legal to drive the wrong way down a one-way street if you have a lantern attached to the front of your automobile. Aloysius
check PA. I had an argument with a cop over this once: apparently parents can get fined for allowing their children to have alchohol on their own property.
philothea
I tried to check PA, but they don't have any state laws online. How convenient!
