Target is one of the most philanthropic companies in the US. Its not just with dollars, it is also with time and sweat equity too. Internally within the corporation, they are encouraged to be very proactive in employee donations as well.
They have one of the most organized and extensive systems for giving out grants. Going to their "Community" section of their website you can find out about applying for a grant and what kind of programs they have that you can go ahead and donate to. Plus, they have come up with a donation system with the Salvation Army: http://www.target.com/gp/browse.html/601-0...5?node=16067381 . I wish the groups would shut up about the kettles now. I went into walmart today and found that may people don't put change in the kettles because more people carry plastic around now. scardella
What bothers me is that people are so afraid of the whiners that they change their language just so that it's not offensive. People will bend over backwards if you're "offended" by something. It's ridiculous. That's why I boycott "Happy Holidays". Once on TV, I even saw a commercial that replaced "Merry Christmas" w/ "Happy Holidays" IN A CHRISTMAS CAROL!!

1337 k4th0l1x0r
Actually, the Catholic in me would rather not hear 'Merry Christmas' right now. It is still the first week of advent and we should be penitent and waiting for the coming of Christ right now. 'Merry Christmas' right now would be like everyone wishing you happy birthday when it is three weeks away.
1337 k4th0l1x0r
And I used the words "right now" three times in that short post. I really need to expand my word selection, starting right now.
Cow of Shame
I bought a waffle iron there. As I was pulling it out of the box, it slipped and landed on my ceramic cow bank. It wasn't pretty. Ash Wednesday
Another reason to not shop a Target is someone told me it's a French company. I guess its the only part of the country that hasn't been burned.
Anastasia13
I can tell that this Christmas, I will be getting more sick of the secular holiday hype. I've heard Christmas songs on Christian radio stations that scarcely refer to Christ's birth. I think I would rather see nothing at all than see a bunch of things secularizing the celebration of the birth of my savior while ignoring Him like He had nothing to do with it. Jesus is the reason for the season as the saying goes, and if someone doesn't believe in Him, they have no right to the holiday and happy midwinter festival to them cause Christmas isn't just presents and profits or family and warm fuzzies. Ok, thanks for letting me rant. Keep it real, Edited December 3, 2005 by Light and Truth
