Paladin D
...no wonder why some of the critics were bashing the ending of the movie, being too religious. Man that was one great movie. Has anyone noticed how when Bruce brings a meteor to Earth, how the news coverage stated that "And some people claim that this meteor is a prophecy of the End Times" or something. It reminded me so much of the fundamentalists (no offence, but I see a lot of it). Glad the Catholic director added that in there.

God Conquers
HILARIOUS! When he makes the anchor go crazy that's the funniest! I laughed so hard I nearly died! And in the deleted scenes it shows an alternate one where he catches on FIRE!!!!! SO FUNNY!!!!
M.SIGGA
Did you notice that God (Morgan Freeman) held him to his appointment time at the end of the movie? Definitly one of my favorites.

traichuoi
not only was this movie funny but it had some great lines in it!!! [Referring to the seven fingers on Bruce's right hand] God: I pulled that one on Gandhi, he didn't eat for three weeks. Bruce Nolan: How do you make someone love you without changing free will? God: Welcome to my world. Bruce Nolan: God doesn't take vacations... does he?... do ye? Bruce Nolan: I needed time to reassess my goals and get in touch with my true self. Jack: You did that in a day? Bruce Nolan: Imagine what I could do in seven... Bruce: Hey bretheren, what up with thee? (to the hoodies) Bruce: Smite me oh mighty smiter. THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE: God fixes a light bulb that shines an insanely bright illumination down on Bruce. Bruce: (wiping his eyes) Kinda bright though. God: Yea, it is for most people that spend their lives in the dark thinkin' they can hide from me.

LTNgurl
the only part i didnt like about the movie was that his bruce was living with his girlfriend, personally, i find this sinful. but everybody does it now a days...maybe i'm just old fashion
Paladin D
Well they were living in sin, and weren't the best examples of "Christians". Around the end of the film no doubt, they had a change of heart. The film doesn't imply that they living together or having pre-martial sex was "good" or anything. God Conquers
actually, the simple fact they they do in the movie promotes it.
Paladin D
actually, the simple fact they they do in the movie promotes it. If you take it the wrong way yeah. I read an interview of the director, and he said that he portrayed them as not being exactly "walking in the Faith" couple. So they lived in sin (which includes pre-martial sex), but at the end of the film... they change.
God Conquers
ya, but they don't denounce the way they were living. You have to take the portrayal of their living as a positive one, because that is how it is intended and how society would interpret it.

Jake Huether
LOL. I just saw it last night. I was caught on the same thing. I wish Morgan Freman (God) would have told him to stop living/sleeping with his girlfriend. Other than that, it was pretty darn funny. I really like the part when Bruce was like, "how do you get someone to love you without effecting free will", and then God says, "when you figure that out, let me know." It touched on a profound truth.
