Since you invited this step I thought I'd keep you posted. I've looked into FTC remedies both for what's been happening here over the last several days and, evidently, even more intensely so in the last hour. Unfortunately, its doubtful that the FTC can be of much help to me so a complaint there will not be pursued after all. Other, far more promising avenues would seem available, however, and, if I find them to have merit, they'll be taken. Stay tuned.
I'd contact the IRS about investigation of election intervention. This place looked like one big GOP rally for months before the 2004 election, and Phatmass is supposed to be a non-profit organization.

This John fellow by the way hes actings seems fake. To me, no rational person would attack phatmass! There's porn on other websites not to mention things ten times worse. What more, this place is where this type of hootin' and hollerin's suppose to take place. Probably at least one reason all those websites can exist, why they should be able to, and why this one should and will persist, is because anyone has the option to just leave if they don't like something. If he's upset at his name being slandered, maybe he should have thought twice before posting his screen name as his real name. Not that he was slandered, as any court would recognize. Maybe he's just having a good time or someone's posing, upset about something in the past.

Plus Soc is right that you don't go into a thread and hijack it. Maybe he should be pursued.

I say call him on his bluff. Don't give in, and I'd even call him out and have him prove himself to exist and be genuine, not a lame prankster, which I think he is. It's too hard for me to imagine he's genuinely lame.

The thought passed my mind as well (that he's toying with us). He seems like an intelligent enough man. But suddenly, Good Friday shows up and supports John Lowell. Good Friday, of course, is an intelligent person with a grudge against Catholicism (and Phatmass).

Draw your own conclusions.

Actually, I'm not John Lowell. It's just a happy coincidence that there happens to be another disgruntled Catholic here who hasn't either left in frustration or been suspended yet. If you don't believe me, I think dUSt can check our IP addresses (which, in my case, he might want to think about blocking...) and see that we're not the same person.

I only came back to insult the pope following the release of the perfidious document today. I have no intention of sticking around, I'm sure I'll be promptly suspended.

You realize that it only goes against practicing, right?

Technically, it only says the same thing (as far as I can tell) as the Church teaches about heterosexual men and activity.

After that statement it is highly likely.

No, it doesn't. It says that men with "deep-seated homosexual tendencies" cannot be ordained, and both the document itself and the Catechism make clear that men with "deep-seated homosexual tendencies" are those who have a homosexual orientation, regardless of their behavior. The document bans all homosexual men from being ordained.

How it will be interpreted is a different story. But what it says is crystal clear.

See, even dairy's on our side and we give her a plenty hard time all the time! (Sorry about that btw.)

Socrates is a bit brusque, but he's not as bas as all this.

And John, if you don't like the way dUSt runs his phorum, start your own and run it the way you want to. It's a free Internet....

Neverminding the discussion here, I wanted to note that this...
When you exist as nothing more than text you should probably try to be the best text you can be.

...is a quite excellent statement, all by itself.

(Kinda depressing for me personally, but still good.)
