Freaky Chik
Infatuation is just a feeling. Love involves understanding. In this case, understanding Who it is we love, and what He has done for us, What He left to us, and what He wants us to do about it. Too right it is. i understand Christ, I understand what He has done for us, I understand the calling He has left us, and I do alll I can to do that calling. You may think I don't know much.... but there is alot you don't know about my faith. There is alot you haven't seen behind these computer screens. Do not judge my faith or love for Christ. have a good day
CatholicAndFanatical
no one is judging your faith in Christ. Were only saying there is alot more He left us that needs to be followed and recognized. We know you love Christ, it seems to be genuine, however in order to fully follow Christ you must truely follow Him 100%. If you deny the Church, you deny Christ. its as simple as that. Freaky Chik
CatholicandFanatical, I like you... you've got something good going for you. Although sometimes I forget to see your heart behind your words, I'm begginning to see it now... You love Christ, and you want people to love Christ the way that you know how. And that's great. You don't compromise what you believe. You stand strong, you stand tall, and you stand proud. Keep on standing tall for Christ Keep on loving Him! Keep on pressing on... keep on running the race... Don't quit but just keep on going! You rock!!! :)
phatcatholic
freaky, its amesome that you see past our occasional hostile exterior and realize that we only say what we say b/c we love our Lord and we love His Truth so much. you are a rare "protestant" indeed! pax, phatcatholic
CatholicAndFanatical
be careful with your words... why would I have to be careful when repeating the words of Christ? Does this fact bother you? That if you deny His Church you Deny Him? When Saul was killing Christians and trying to destroy Christs Church what did Jesus say to Saul when Christ knocked him off his horse? "Saul, Saul, why art thou persecuting ME" I will say it again, if you deny Christs Church, you deny Christ. CatholicAndFanatical

CatholicAndFanatical I tend to support Robyn...there's no problem with "repeating the words of Christ" - but there is a problem with the context. I haven't posted before, but I've been reading topics, and it looks like you are blatantly telling non-Catholics that if they reject the church they reject Christ and are going to hell. That's where the problem lies. But I can see your passion. :)
CatholicAndFanatical
Well there is alot that goes into that statment thought, its not exactly as cut and dry as I had put it. If someone was to know the teachigs of the Church and still reject it, they deny Christ. if someone was told lies about the Church, have no clue on what it teachs except what people have told them from anti-Catholics or just not being exposed to the Church, the denial wouldnt be there. Thanks for posting finally GodsPrincess, May God bless you and open your heart and mind. JMJ, CatholicAndFanatical
PedroX
Catholic and Fanatical is right. The original challenge was issued and taken up by Freaky Chic. That challenge was to study Catholicism and compare it to scripture. IF Freaky Chic studied Catholicism and scripture, and decided Catholicism was false, she would in effect be denying Christ. We are the church He founded. If, however, Freaky Chic did not compare the two she would not be realizing that she was rejecting Christ, and would bear no punitive fault. To deny the Church that Christ founded is the same as denying Christ. Its simple logic, really. peace...
jasJis
It's not simple logic, Pedro. It's simply assuming one knows another persons motives. That's not simple, and never a good idea. It's a broad platitude that can be interpreted a number of different ways. One can never say another is denying Christ without that person specifically stating what they are denying. Failure to understand or agree is not denial. Especially if that person believes that accepting teachings of another denomination also includes denial of a known denomination when that denomination may have served as a channel of Grace that led them to knowledge of Christ. One doesn't really get a non-Catholic to convert to Catholicism, only to recognize and accept additional graces.
dUSt
If Freaky Chik studies Catholicism and comes to the conclusion that it is Christ's Church--if she rejects the Church, then she rejects Christ. However--if Freaky Chik studies Catholicism and comes to the conclusion that it is NOT Christ's Church--if she rejects the Church, she is not rejecting Christ. With that said, I feel if Freaky Chik doesn't try to learn about Catholicism with an open heart because of social, family, personal reasons--she's doing a great disservice to herself--because I think these types of barriers are what keep us from knowing Christ to the fullest--wherever she is seeking to know Christ better. I definitely think a person can have a great relationship with Christ outside of Catholicism--but it is only through Catholicism that we can have the greatest relationship with him. Spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. Freaky--wherever your journey to know Christ to the fullest takes you--my prayers are with you. God bless. Guest chasinghim
ok...hey everyone...once again...i am NOT catholic but i am running as fast as i possibly can after jesus... First of all...in my opinion church is the body of believers not some denomination...So therefore there is only ONE TRUE CHURCH and that is the church of all believers not just the believers who call themselves catholic...i essence it all boils down to we love Jesus and should strive to become more like him everyday....also i think that it is possible for me to have the same relationship with God that a catholic does...and i am really trying hard to see both sides...cuz when u catholics(sorry i dont know how else to put it) talk about stuff that i may not find true i find myself aggravated...which helps me to feel what u guys feel when we "non-catholics" say what we say...i dont know if that makes sense at all ..but i tried... Thanks for listening...Im trying to take in all viewpoints....ill talk to u all later peace

CatholicAndFanatical
welcome chasinghim, thanks for posting. It would be easy to say every person that has faith in Christ is part of His Church. But in reality, using Sacred Scriptures and Sacred Tradition, you can only point to one Church. you also have to realize that the Catholic Church is not a 'denomination', a denomination didnt come about until the 1500s when the first prot church was created. They seperated from Christs Church, the Catholic Church. It would be nice for us all to come together, which is what God wants us to do anyway, he didnt want different Churchs, rather one Church. But I think I can speak for every Catholic in saying we are not going to water down Christs Church for us to all come together. God left us a wonderful Church to guide us through life and to show us the Path that leads to heaven. That cant be replaced. I respect you and all non-Catholics as my seperated brethren, but you will only have complete happiness when you are in Christs Church, the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
