its almost humorous to me to try to think about which i do and when. paphnutius brought up something i had not thought about when i was thinking about which i do and how i would respond. originally i was going to say that on the days that I serve as an Extroardinary Minister of Holy Communion that I dont chew. I was going to say that I didnt feel comfortable chewing the host and saying thank you to Father and chewing while walking down to the altar rail and i definitely wouldnt want to be there chewing until i could clear my mouth to say "The Body of Christ". however, letting it dissolve in my mouth and then swallowing often means i swallow a rather tough piece in order to say those words to the first person. so i dont know... i think i generally tend to let it dissolve. i feel less distracted that way and i think others are less distracted that way. i know one time i saw a young boy who not only talked at the altar rail right before receiving but then turned around and was chewing really obnoxiously and looking around. it was kinda mean of me but i decided then and there that i really didnt like how it looked or felt when i turned around and was chewing the host. call me weird....
