photosynthesis
I had to go to a job interview in New York City today, so I had to "look professional." So, I wore high heels. I walked ALL OVER New York City in heels, all day and I feel like my feet are going to fall off. They were bleeding! They hurt so much I fell in Port Authority and I couldn't get up, and my friends had to help me walk to the bus. I know women that wear high heels every day.... I could not imagine such a thing! I mean, it's not like this was the first time I ever wore heels, but they never made my feet bleed before! whose idea was it that women should walk around on their toes all day??? whose idea was this??? Carrie
It was probably a man's idea. I'm sorry your feet started to bleed. I love heels but when I first started wearing them regularly, they always made my feet hurt, swell, and bleed. With time, I'lve learned to avoid certain types of shoes that I know will kill my feet. For instance, Nine West heels kill my feet, for no known reason so I just don't buy them. Try getting heels at Aerosoles. They're specifically made to be comfortable heels. My feet still hurt and sometimes bleed if I walk around the city too much in them. I usually keep a spare pair of flip flops under my desk or in a purse (i like big purses so I can just shove them in there). How did your interview go? Sixtina87
i just graduated HS in may, then got a job wher they require you to dress up and wear high heels. i first started out with scandel like high heels, then moved on to stripper like High heels, but after 2 hrs on those, my feet were killing me. Then i slowly moved to flat shoes, becuase being on your feet and not being able tos it down is a veyr good idea. But then i wanted some hooker boots. the first few days my feet were hurting really bad. then i added comfort and they are fine to wear. then for work i ahd to find a pair if high heels that could go with my evening gownt hat i was wearing for a event at work. Not long after 20 mminutes of having them on and walking around, my feet were hurting badly i couldnt walk. so i went around barefoot. my boos asked me why id ditn have shoes on and i told her my feetin were hurting tramendasly!!!!!!!! She told me to be careful that way i dont step on a sencor needle. here skin was taken off of my foot and thats why it was hurting soooooo badly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YUP. I have had "Professional" jobs before but none of them have ever specified that I had to wear high heels. If there is a "dress code" read it. I doubt HIGH HEELS are a part of it. If it is i agree with CMom, ask your employer if they will be picking up the doctor's bill. You can always get another job...another set of legs, NOPE. I think the level of comfort found in heels depends on each person. Just as an aside, I've always been told to wear heels when on an interview.
yeah, that's what I get all the time too. If I get the job at CBS, I am going to have to try to find some formal shoes that won't kill my feet. The interview went OK.... I just talked with my former boss briefly, gave him my resume, and chatted about technical stuff. He told me that I was more than qualified for a D.A. position, but that they didn't have any openings. He said he would pass my resume on to other people at the company and to local affiliates. It doesn't make me any less nervous, though!!!
homeschoolmom
I hate high heals... I don't even think I own any anymore...
sweetpea316
Indeed. I'm all about the short heels. And plus, I'm tall already. I don't like towering over people.
Tony
now.. I am not a woman..so I have never owned any high heels (rofl), but Id like to add this: I am not sure if anyone remembers my whole ordeal with trying to improve my posture and such... well I did some googling on the subject.. and came across a few places that suggested high heels can throw your body out of alignment...ofcourse Iam no expert, but know keeping your feet flat on the floor,is one component to a better posture... doesn't seem possible with high heels. so I dont think the feet are the only thing they cause problems to. photosynthesis
I read somewhere that men find women in high heels attractive, because high heels make women more vulnerable. It's easier to attack someone when they're walking around on their toes, and it's harder for her to fight back.

littlebreakdowns
I *love* wearing high heels - but my feet have to get used to them. I work in an office at a plant now, though, and so I don't wear them much because it's hard on the asphalt when I have to go visit someone or go get lunch or whatever. They make me feel very feminine and I like that. Teresa
