Democrats on Iraq: Bush lied

The thing that chaps me is the the Dems seem to have forgotten that they themselves thought Iraq was a problem. Even back in 1998 (Clinton admin.) There were many times they talked about how bad Iraq was. Clinton's administrators, talked about the assuradness that Sadam had WMD and would use them again within 10 years. As well as in 2000, and in 2002. The Dems are just hoping people have forgotten about those things, and want to pin it all on one man, dispite the fact that Congress voted to go to war.

you know what gets me? The lib dems have been criticizing bush and the cons for a long time, now that Bush and the cons are fighting back its like the libs get all crazy and lose their minds. I truly cant stand liberal democrats. They start a fire fight but cant take it when fire is hurled back at them.

Sadly, it appears he has gone over to the Dark Side.

A moment of silence.
The thing about the multilateral approaches is that they really have more of a focus on long-term goals.  This is not always attractive to the impatient American, but then neither is a prolonged occupation.  We could cut our time there if we could form a regional institution that helped achieve stability in the region.
But the other problem with the multilateral approach is the National politics that have a big say in their International politics. For example, France has demonstrated endemic stupidity with dealing with it's own Muslims and working class to where they feel they are discriminated against. That is HUGE as far as their policies in the rest of the Islamic world. The US doesn't have a major problem with Muslims because the % of population is smaller, we are more tolerant of other religions, and it's not really a racial thing with us. It's blacks and hispanics that the US has struggled with and the US faced that in the 60's and 70's. Racial discrimination in US has been a work in progress for decades, while France is just now beginning to even get a clue that they have a problem to deal with. Imagine if it wasn't Iraq, but Zimbabwe terrorists we were dealing with and it was 1968. What we would do or not do in Zimbabwe would have a tremendous impact on the politics at home.
