Hey Vocation Stationers,
So this weekend, I spent 4 days with the Sisters of Life in the Bronx/Manhattan area & they are AMAZING. I am pretty much sure this is the order for me. I still have one more year of school & lots of loans to pay off, but I know I can do it. If you all want photos, I'll totally post em.

Yea, they are sooo cool! I spent some time with them over the summer and they rock! Totally post pictures, I'm sure people here would love them. What things did you do on the retreat? Did you get to see their new retreat house in CT? I've heard it's beautiful!

for debt stuff, I would recommend the Laboure Foundation

Good Luck with your disernment and keep us posted!

Hey!

My friend Lauren was at that retreat, too! She said it was pretty nice, too! If you're ever in STL or I'm in Steubie we should do breakfast again!

Peace out!

I really wanted to enter this community when I was younger and very involved in the pro-life movement. They have such an awesome apostolate. I was never able to visit, but I know someone who knew them well so he told me a lot about them. I hope it works out for you if you want to enter, mel!

the sisters of life were at my seminary in philly... it was fantastic to see them in their habit -- they had at least 15 postulants, or approaching that number.... it was amazing; a great witness to the faith.

I am totally going to post the pictures.
The next retreat is in the Spring; I recommend contacting Sr. Mary Gabriel ASAP. You have to have had at least a chat with Sr. Gabriel over the phone (she's great; very outgoing and a wonderful person to talk with)

jgirl -- You know Lauren?? She is awesome! I really wanted their Neuman Club to come to our next FOP too or at least a conference or something here at Steubie. I am totally down with visiting either STL again, we'll just have to see how it goes.

Also, thanks for the recommendations to where I go for help with those loans. THe next step is calming the parents down ... that one is going to be trickier.

As for what we did on the retreat, I won't go into specifics, but there was time to really see a little bit of everything, even the city! (which is like totally exciting for me, coming from a small town). There was much contemplation, & much action. Just perfect.

Me, Sister Elizabeth Ann, and the infamous apple peeler that cores and slices your apple!! Wow! [I am so serious, it was like an inside joke the whole weekend ...]

So "Laura" is my friend Lauren! We go way back to the year 2000! We're from the same youthg roup, and she was coming in as a freshman as I was graduating out.

For those of you who met Sr. Mary Michael at the Carmelites of the Divine Heart of Jesus, that's her cousin.

It's a small Catholic world!

Wow! great pictures! It's funny, I had the same question as Jenny about the # of postulants....Sr. Charlotte said they were expecting 8-12 but I never found how many actually entered. Also when I saw Aulina I almost fell off my chair! I saw her on the Baltimore Catholic website with her vocation story! At the time she had $25,000 in debts and I didn't know if she was going to be able to enter. God bless her!
