I think we can all strive for sanity, but not normalcy (yes, that is a word, coined by a POPE actually ) What do y'all think?
(That "y'all" is really taking over phatmass. Though I suppose since you're in Texas I understand. ) Normalcy would be bad to strive for. Normal, in this world, is mediocre and sinful. Learning to fake normalcy is okay, though. For limited periods of time, when required. I once had someone who learned about my past ask, "But, you seem so normal! How do you do it?" Told her I'm just pretending.
stargirl3:16
Welcome to my life. It could be best summed up in one sentence. "Don't question my logic; I stopped doing that a long time ago." Edited November 10, 2005 by stargirl3:

I just could never get used to typing out "you all" or "you guys" when I NEVER say those things in verbal conversations. I have always said y'all... Anyhoo, I would argue that there is no such thing as normal, even if the definition of "normal" is "whatever the majority is doing". Because yes, there is a LOT of evil in the world, but there are also a lot of ill-formed consciences... so I dunno. Maybe I'm just rambling, but it seems to me that to be sane is more imortant. But I do know what you're saying, I think. I think I'm confusing myself now!

To me, sanity and normalcy are the same things. and there's no DSM diagnosis for "freaking weird."
