Catholictothecore
I was once nearly hit by a car when I was....what, 13? Musta been. I jumped off the wagon on a hay ride and all I remember after that is the glare of his headlights. He missed by like, inches. But one thing I do remember is the physcical feeling of being thrown into the ditch. I think my gauridan angel had something to do with that as nobody else was within thirty feet. Prays for that dude.
prose
Parishner, IT IS YOUR DUTY TO PRESS CHARGES!!!! This guy is dangerous, unstable, and could hurt someone else. This may be the chance to get him off the streets. It will serve as paper trail in case the wife needs to file a restraining order against him, or in case he tries to sue your employer. It's nice to be merciful to the criminal, but there is also a responsibility to the rest of society as well.
I have to agree.... Jazz4jesus
prayers I wouldnt say i stared death in the face, i tend not to see him you could say. Im one of those daredevils. I do some crazy things not fully thinking of dangers. Do you think youd take a scooter down a mountain with just a helmet? i did, though i didnt break any bones (well not noted i think i broke my hand but that was after things were done), i messed up my shoulder and have reasons to believe i was going 15+ mph down the mountain. Down one hill wow that was fun down the second without thinking once and BAM. cousins thought twice thrice enough times to see me fall.

Ash Wednesday
Not in my conscious adult life, though I was conceived way against the odds, was a dangerous pregnancy and almost died at birth. I don't remember all that, though. But I am interested in the subject of prenatal trauma and how it affects people in their adult lives. What a shocking experience you had. Glad you are okay. Take care.

Anastasia13
One time a few years ago, my dad's older sister and her husband were visiting from the east coast. We were going around showing them some of the local area. We had stopped at this one area where there was a drainage area, one of those ones that is dry on summer and flooding in winter when there is a storm. I went too close to the edge and lost my balance I was almost belly down, head first heading toward cement 14 feet or so below except that there was this one tuft of grass right by one of my feet that I was able to use to steady my self with my shoe. I would have been falling by the time the flat area I was on would have made a difference. (That ladies and gentlemen is why it is important to listen when parents tell you not to go to close to the edge where there is a steep drop.) That is about as close as I remember being. Everything else was a bit distanced or not quite at that level.
Snarf
Fifth grade- drank a relatively huge amount of mercury and never felt the slightest bit ill, with no medical attention. Freshman year of college- drank enough rubbing alcohol to kill a man twice my size. Passed out, then was found in the middle of cardiac shutdown by my roomie who decided surreptitiously to return to the room early. Summer after- Someone slipped either formaldyhyde or ecstasy into a joint I was smoking just to be social (I'm practically immune to THC, so what's the point of smoking?), and so I went on a joyride. I was going 130 mph in a very curvy 40, missed a turn, and flipped my car three times length-wise. It was a convertible and the top was down, but the only thing keeping me from having my brains smeered like peanut butter on the field was the fact that the top flew open mid-air, against the force of the wind. I missed a telephone pole by less than a yard. The hydrostatic shock of my blood being forced to the back of my head from the impact temporarily blinded me and created interesting tingling feelings. My thoughts before losing consciousness: "Oh, so I guess this is what hell feels like. I better get used to it." And with my last episode last February, I was on two antipsychotics at once that cancelled each other out at a pivotal time that programmed me into thinking I was supposed to do very bad things. On the three-hour drive I was making to murder someone for no reason whatsoever, I was miraculously pulled over by two policemen, although even then I considered overpowering one of them, getting his gun, and shooting them both. Heartbeats away from doing this, I calculated that the other one would shoot me long before I had a chance. Had I not been pulled over and continued on my mission, I have been guaranteed by a law official, I would have received the death penalty. ...The wild and crazy life of Seth Thomas Augustinus Pace. cmotherofpirl
I was fossil hunting several miles from home and crawled up onto a ledge and discovered it was already occupied by a rattler. We shared the ledge until the sun went down. I sang him [or her] all the girl scout songs I knew. I had a gun pulled on me walking my dog in the next block. Got a scatch on my leg several years ago and within 48 hours had a massive infection and heart failure.
