photosynthesis
I am so excited!!! Tomorrow is First Friday and for all the Baltimore folks out there that means THE PRAYER VIGIL! WOOHOO!!!! http://twoheartsmd.com/ There's this thing called the Alliance of the Two Hearts, and every First Friday/First Saturday they do a late-night prayer vigil with confessions, Rosary, and a Holy Mass in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Then they have the Holy Eucharist exposed for awhile, and we pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, the Office of the Sacred Heart, and the Office of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Then there is a beautiful procession of the Blessed Sacrament, with singing : and a Mass in honor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. And the priests are so holy and orthodox! It's like a spiritual Super Bowl!

photosynthesis
I went to the First Friday thing and it was awesome!!!! They had confession, Mass, Adoration, the Office of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, and a procession + benediction.... the priests came down from Delaware.. they are a very traditional, orthodox Filipino order... the homily at Mass was very pro-life and it was all about how Catholics need to reject gay "marriage" and attacks against the family. And there were smells and bells!!! I love church incense and I don't get to smell it too often but this was wonderful... I actually came home from the vigil, and one of the girls on my floor asked me what club I came from, because she said I smelled like smoke. I told her I was at church my favorite part was the procession, where the priest carried the Blessed Sacrament and we sang Holy God, We Praise Thy Name and walked around the church... why can't we have these all the time?
man.. when are they going to come to DC!?
I don't know. People in DC seem pretty spoiled to me You guys have the Shrine, plus it seems like there is a pretty happening Catholic scene there. Baltimore has BaltimoreCatholic ( http://baltimorecatholic.com ) but this isn't affiliated with them. All baltimorecatholic events are in weird places like Glen Burnie that you can't go to without a car. Once I get a car, I am going to give lots of people rides, because I know how it feels to be stuck at home unable to do anything fun.
Seven77, you might be interested in a similar event that is held every First Friday at St. Anne's Church in Northwest DC. They have an all-night prayer vigil, beginning with a votive Mass of the Sacred Heart, exposition, procession, benediction, way of the cross, rosary, etc through the night, all culminating with a Mass in honor of Mary on Saturday morning.
