does anyone know anything about hypnosis?

You don't surrender your free will, you simply put it in abeyance for awhile.
It can work well in a theraputic environment, and getting pyschological help is not immoral.

I'm interested in this because a friend was just telling me that after professional hypnosis, he has never wanted a cigarette. He was a fairly heavy smoker before. So it definitely can work...but I share the reservations of some on this board.

JP2Iloveyou...if you get a chance could you press the Rector for some rationale or relevant sources? I know rectors are pretty tough to corner, though.
