Ziggamafu
Since a Deacon is part of the priesthood (Priests remain Deacons even after they become Priests), I was wondering if it is mere Church order / discipline / prudential judgement that a Deacon cannot perform all the Sacraments. Hypothetically, (even if unrealistic) could the Church ever decide to unlock all the powers of the priesthood to Deacons in the future?
Pio Nono
JMJ 11/2 - All Souls' Day Ziggamafu, In his De Doctrina, Augustine says that "all signs are things, but not all things are signs." Likewise, all priests are deacons, but not all deacons are priests. In order to receive the graces proper to priests, they'd have to be priests. This is also why Fr. Pulvermacher (aka "Pope" Pius XIII) is wrong, as well as his cronies. Hope this helps. Yours, Pio Nono
