I bet she sues the pants off of that school. It will probably end up leaving the school without any money, but it sounds like an unfaithful school that needs to be shut down anyways.

There'll probably be two suits -- hers and the teacher who was fired.

[quote name='Sojourner' date='Nov 1 2005, 12:42 PM']You can write to the school, I expect. They say they welcome comments and questions.

Hopefully a lot.

I think I might try to write a story about this and shop it around to a few publications. I e-mailed a friend who freelances to see how that's generally done.

I've checked out some of them ... I won't have time to read through everything, though. You're right that she's getting some high-profile folks on the site.

Prayers for Katelyn and her family.

I can't believe some of the vicious comments her fellow students are leaving for her! It's mind-boggling!

For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

I just checked in on her blog. This morning she had 41 comments about her expulsion

She now has over 160.

This is beyond words

Something about this is really rather fishy. I don't think we are hearing the fully story about what happened. Also, for all we know, she may have commited a crime (libel) to some degree in her blog. Even if not it could be shown that she was willingly trying to defame the teachers character. Yes, I agree, the teacher should have been at least repremanded about the issue, but it should have been addressed interally and privately (which is what the school, from what I have read, did). The blog, while it can be said was per se charitiable, could be deemed unnesscary and a willing attempt to harm the teacher's character. I would not think anything of her in a postive or negitive light until I hear more. However, if forced to lean one way or another, I would lean against her and for the school for a number of reasons. I read a few of her older posts and she did not strike me as a very open minded person. In fact, she was in a rut, to my view. Furthermore, I would not put it beyond her to cast what is going on in her own view. I would not take her blog to be free from her intrest because she is Catholic or whatever. Unless some reputable media picks it up and reports it, I am not going to applaud her actions.

I agree that we are not getting the whole story on her expulsion. (Which is why I tried to word the introduction to this thread carefully)

However, in a Catholic school setting, you generally have to do something pretty serious to get expulsion. The timing of this only leads one to believe it was because of her blog.

Was her blog a reason to expell the girl?
