I saw Fr Stan at WYD, but not the whole show, at first it didn't even seem as if we could go in since most of us had bags with us.

I have one of his cds. I had never heard about this priest before I got hold of this cd about St. Joseph. As soon as I heard his voice, I was amazed. The lyrics are really amazing though the music genre in this cd is not exactly my favourite. Great work though! :)
what is the difference between this order and the other Fraciscans....OFM?
CFR can be recognized by their blue habits, and they generally focus on a more radical life of poverty and work with the poor than OFM, who do a very wider array of ministries. CFR (Friars of the Renewal) are also stationed in New York.

EDIT* This is their website.

Oops, I also forgot to mention that along with their work with the homeless and destitute, they also enjoy a radical evangelization mission mostly in the Bronx. That's why alot of peope are talking about Fr. Stan, he travels around the world singing his music and evangelizing through it.

I guess they're sort of a mix between the Franciscans and the Dominicans. :)

actually, the CFRs are known as the gray friars because of their gray habbits. And, although they started in New York, they are in England, Honduras, New Mexico and probably more by now.

They have sisters also for all you discerning ladies.

Cool folks.
