zunshynn
I need help explaining to a Mormon that the Great Apostasy couldn't have happened. She thinks that after the last apostle's death the Church became apostate, because of Isaiah 24.5 and some other verses. I said that just because there was a falling away doesn't mean that there was no Church, because Jesus said he would be with us until the end of the age and that he said the gates of hell would not prevail against it. It's frustrating because the only stuff I ever find about them are bashing them... and that's not what I want to do.

zunshynn
yes, but nothing I've found explains what the scriptures they use to support the great apostasy actually mean. What I mean is, they certainly have evidence that could support a great apostasy. But obviously their interpretation is wrong, in light of Jesus' vow to be with us always, etc. But Mormons expect some kind of answer as to why their interpretation is wrong, and I couldn't find anything.
