Drop out of school for a semester?

Unfortunately, that's the sort of thing you have to expect where there are many people w/ the same major and all the other people want to get in a few good classes there too. It seems like half the campus gets at least a minor in theology. Can you blame them?

However, I certainly understand that you're frustrated. They really should take some care that majors get first access to a class. However, given that so many people double major, that doesn't really help a lot. They should also use that room @ the bottom of Cosmas & Damian for theology lectures. I know that's not a good answer, but it should help out a little. Maybe they should just hire the Catholic Answers people to teach some extra classes...

Ask the professors to open a chair for you! :)

Do you know how hard it would be to get one extra chair in a class without ticking off a whole mob of people who wanted to get in?

They can only take on so many students. 50 is most teachers limit for opening extra seats. They already have.

It wouldn't hurt to stop by at the professors' offices or send them an email. They may end up opening another section if the demand is high enough.

I can't relate too much, since most of my classes are lecture/lab ones, and I've always had trouble getting into labs.

Dude, my Grandfather died and so I missed registration and they wouldn't let me into the classes I needed.... don't expect any sympathy just because you need to take a class. I was only arguing for ONE class in the end (I had settled on other profs for the rest)-- and offered to sit on the floor every class period in the back of the room if I had to. They still said no.

(you can bet that helped me make my transfer decision)

Fides went to FUS as well. It's too late for me to transfer or I would. It's a great school....if you are among the lucky elite to get decent professors.

I would like to point out that at U.D. Masters students in Theology have first pick and never get turned down....And we have a superior program at least on the level of rigor.
