geetarplayer
There's an idea. Next time someone uses God's name, use their name in vain when you get the chance to. -Mark

marielapin
Sometimes my friend might say "Jesus Christ" and then I reply in a way as if I thought he wasn't taking his name in Vain...like "What about him?" or maybe "Well, I dunno if He can help you here." I do this too. It works well to make your point without being forceful.
VeraMaria
i usually cringe and grit my teeth same here. and say a silent prayer. i usually dont say anything. which is sad because almost everyone i know cusses constantly, and takes the lord's name in vain.
God Conquers
I try to imitate one of the priests I know. Someone says: "Jesus Christ!" You say: "Is LORD!" Just use exclamations of praise after they say it! It really makes'em stop and think!
littleflower+JMJ
yeah when ppl say JC without thinking i say to them really serious-like... "wow. are you praying right now? thats wonderful" they turn red when they can't answer. but thats okay. :)
geetarplayer
Ok, let's go through a little scenario. Person A says, "*** beaver dam it!" They have the constitutional right to do so. You ask them to please not say that. You have the constitutional right to do so. Person A can be nice and comply with your request. Then again, A has the constitutional right to continue saying it to spite you. Likewise, you have the constitutional right to continue asking them to stop. It could go back and forth ad infinitum, or until someone gets so annoyed that they just give in. -Mark
hopeful1
ok, it's kind of stupid, but when ever i heard ppl at my school say "jesus christ" like that i used to say back "Superstar" ( like the show). I don't think anyone heard me though. then i thought maybe that sounds alittle blasphemous ( i think i ment it to be a cute way to give praise) , but i'm thinking of swiching to something else. Like next time i'll just mentally say "my Lord and Savior" so that way it's kinda turned into a prayer.
