Marieteresa
Hello i needed to share and get some feed back from eveyone. I went to the Tridentine Latin mass today. And when i got back i felt called. it was kind of weird. Until a couple weeks ago i never gave a second thought to the franciscans. But i remembred reading a book. it said Francis was the "most chrsit like man who ever lived beside christ himself". And now i feel called from the depths of my heart to the The Capuchin Franciscan order. Its the strangest thing, but i feel called to be a franciscan. I had to tell someone and so this seemed like the right place to do it! Dominus Vobiscum, sam
I pray that God guides you to the place where He wants you to go! Your in my prayers! Totus Tuus
I would recommend the Louis de Wohl book on St. Francis, which is a novel. It's historically based, and a good introduction to his life. I've also been reading the biography written by St. Bonaventure (I got that right, correct??) who was alive at the same time as Francis Welcome to the Franciscan pham Lauren

the_rev
ewtn priests are almost latin mass priests, they say a reverent english mass in latin, whit a quarter of it in latin. Dominus Vobiscum! Totus Tuus
And at the Shrine, where the MFVA's also reside (and are building a new friary!), they say a solemn Latin Mass on solemnities where only the readings and homily are in English, and that's it. Mother (Angelica) likes the Tridentine, too, but I don't think they've ever really been able to say it because of their bishop. However there's not a whole lot of difference between the Latin solemn NO and the Tridentine, except in my opnion is may be even more beautiful
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
the TLM is beatiful where as the NO is boring and dull.
Piccoli Fiori JMJ
the TLM is beatiful where as the NO is boring and dull.
There are plenty who would say otherwise : But, I think it alittle biased to throw all NO Masses out the window... There are so many wonderfully reverant and beautiful NO Masses... I think they tend to be at Monasteries or in orthodox parishes. Tridentine Masses do sound wonderful to me, and I will hopefully be attending my first on the 20th. I just don't think it is right to call the NO boring and dull... the ones that are boring and dull are the ones where people decided on their own interpretation on Vatican II. I personally think both are beautiful. They are not quite equal in the same ways, but when a NO Mass is celebrated as it should be... <<sigh>> it is beautiful... Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
your right its just my personal opinion and my experience. of course the only parish that ive been to that i could call orthodox is the indult parish i go to. We prayed a dedication of the human race to christ the king. it was so "unecumenical"!
