MC Just
Ok my family is plagued by the left behind series. I need to let them know that the protestant version of the rapture comes from "Dispensationalism" A man made teaching and a total perversion of what the scriptures say. The Rapture in their sense says Christ is returning 3 times rather than once. One of the left behind series portrays a pope who leaves the Catholic Church so he can be raptured up, basically saying Catholics aint going to heaven unless they leave the bossom of "Popery". I am really disgusted by this, one of my sisters is pulling her husband(Catholic)into her bible church using the Left behind series to lure him in. This is horrible Tim Lahaye is going to hell for this. He has lead so many souls astray. Especially Catholics (whom the series are especially aimed at). Seatbelt Blue
Do not presume to judge the soul of LaHaye. It is not your place.
jmjtina
MC Just, I am so sorry to hear that your family has been touched with this evil lie of the Rapture trap. You and your family will be in my prayers. have you read this book? http://shop.catholic.com/cgi-local/SoftCar...7341+1082288799 http://www.catholic.com/library/rapture.asp I myself haven't read the series, but maybe I should just to be able to defend and prove that it's false. Why is all this so popular? Well, i think i know why. This is so unreal. "After the greatest research project of my life, I can honestly say that I am more convinced than ever before of the pre-Tribulation Rapture." Tim LaHaye After all that research? yeah right. <_<

Lounge Daddy
Ya, I work at a Wal-Mart… every new piece in this series is always on display. I have never really read into this stuff – but maybe I should.

willguy
I read 'em for a long while. Basically, the whole idea seems denied by the Bible. Jesus is coming back ONCE! He ain't gonna do this half way stuff. The other problem I find are the people who are 100% certain that Jesus is coming back very soon. They loose all perspective or objectiveness. Every person in the news is the anti-Christ and every event is a "sign." The way I see it, Christ may be coming back in 5 seconds, or he may be coming back in 5 millinia. We don't know, so there's no point in going around saying "The end is near" when people have been saying that for two thousand years.
phatcatholic
MC Just, do u need help defending the catholic position to ur family? if so, let us know. until then, an extremely helpful book is The Rapture Trap by Paul Thigpen. i read it, and it completely debunks this whole rapture doctrine. if your family is so gung-ho about reading about this sort of thing, then see if they wouldn't mind reading this one. if they are so sure of their belief about the endtimes, then they should have no problem reading this book. buy it, check it out of ur library, do something. get them all a copy for christmas! make sure they have it in their hands, b/c i think it is sure to change their views on this. good luck and God Bless...........(let us know if u need any help), phatcatholic

Paladin D
MC Just, you should really make a song about the whole "Rapture" trap. That would be amesome. It's funny, every now and then, people claim THE END is near. I bet people during the World Wars thought the same exact thing... Hitler being the Anti-Christ and all. marielapin
McJust, just ask your family why they put so much credibility (i.e. their eternal salvation) in a FICTION book. Show them the writings of the early Church Fathers. If they blow the latter off in favor of the former, they have some interesting logic they are using. MC Just
The Protestant idea of the rapture did not exist until the 1830's. Before that there was no such thing as "Being left behind" and in all truth there still is no such thing and never will be. M.SIGGA
This idea of the rapture did not exist before the 1900's. So I've read. yeah it comes from an English Protestant's footnotes.
