I am developing a bad habit

You know looking back I realized I had a similar bad habit when I was a senior in college. I was very passionate about supporting local manufacturers of economical malt beverages. Oftentimes I would wake up in the wee hours of the morning and find that I had nodded off on the bathroom floor. While the words "warm" or "cozy" springs to mind, I do remember that hugging was involved.

What is the connection between your story and mine? I'll bet you guessed it!

Actually, I think if I'd had a little nightcap, I wouldn't have had any problem falling asleep in my bed.

Alcohol = sleepy most times for me. Unless it's combined with something like red bull.

My husband has a similar chair vs. bed issue. In the chair, zip, he's off to sleep. When it's time to lie in bed, it takes him much longer.

I think it's something about imagined pressure: here I am in bed, it's TIME TO SLEEP NOW!

Sitting in a chair in the living room doesn't demand anything.

I usually love my bed, plus I've got these totally awesome pillows that are just amazingly comfortable. However, every once and a while I'll do some tossing and turning, even when I'm really tired.

My solution? I sleep at the opposite end of the bed than I usually do--with my head down where my feet usually go, and my feet where my head usually is.

Works like a charm. I'm not sure why, it seems to answer my need to feel like I'm in a different bed/location.

Yeah, isn't that bizarre? Works for me, too....

Maybe we just need to flip our matresses....move the "butt hole", if you will. (My Grandma's term)
