Flower seeds

So what are your favorite flowers?

I love irises, myself, and lilacs. Although I had a beautiful arrangement earlier this summer with sunflowers and gladiolas.

Is it true that sunflowers actually spit their seeds after germination?

I know nothing of sunflower germination or dispersal, so I can't comment on seed-spitting.

I personally have been a party to seed-spitting exercises in various forms; I excel in the watermelon arena.

My favorites are orchids, sunflowers, magnolias, and daylilies.

I planted some daylillies earlier this year.

Orchids ARE really beautiful. Apparently there are something like 200 varieties native to Indiana. One of my friends and I ran across one once on a hike.

I love them! Flowers make me happy. I try to keep flowers in my apartment on a regular basis.

Trust me, you're not missing out on that much.

And flowers are big happy-makers. I like to buy them when I go to the grocery store.
