Creed is back, well kinda!?!?!

Maybe the pressure was just too much for him. The Christian spotlight on a celebrity can drive someone insane. Not to excuse him, but just to not say he completely wants to deny his faith.

He was on Celebrity Poker on the Bravo Channel once. Oh my Lord he was awful. He complained once that he had the best hand because he had a pair (that was in the flop).

It made for bad tv. Much like his songs make for bad radio.

I used to like Stapp because I was a creed fan, but after they broke up I found that it was Mark Tremonti who made Creed so good. Now I give a darn who Scott Stapp thinks he is. In my book, he's weak. And I'm not talking about drugs or booze at all. I'm just talkin about taking responsibilty for the message you send in your lyrics, whether good or bad. He didn't do this because he didn't want to lose fans on either side of the "Christian rock" issue. This is why he didn't claim that some of their songs were Christian. This is also how he justified taking the Lord's name in vain in their first album.
So he got bad publicity after that concert when he was messed up, or drunk, or whatever. What's the next album we found him on? Of course! The "Music inspired by the Passion" CD! I can't stand that song: "To relearn love" or whatever it was. All I know, it sounded NOTHING like Creed. He just needed to appeal to a different crowd to stay on top of fame. WEAK!

But how do you REALLY feel about him?

Okay, what does poker have to do with his spiritual journey??? I like the fact that he has the guts to admit he was wrong and weak for not living up to his christian values. To swallow your pride before a nation of christians who are mad at you and say, "yeah I was wrong", and to try to change his life when his christian brothers, don't support him. Come on we should be rooting for the guy to suceed in his faith, not just expect him to screw it all up. His music will reflect Christ's grace, and that makes it holy- so who care's if it's bad or he doesn't have poker skills(like me)- look farther than the music and see the person, and see the work Christ has done in his life.

Would you elaborate on that? This is the first I've heard that he is anti-Catholic.

He sort of criticised The Church in an interview he did right after leaving Creed.
