heels

OK, I almost never wear heels because it's hard to find a pair that fits right and I have to walk a lot during the day and am generally not willing to sacrifice foot comfort for the sake of fashion.

Today, however, I'm wearing an outfit that screamed "you must wear heels" and I coincidentally purchased a new pair of 4-inch heels Friday afternoon, so I decided I had to do it.

I have learned I've forgotten how to walk in heels because it's been so long since I've worn them, or at least a pair as high as this. I'm not unsteady, but I just feel sort of clunky and not very graceful. I'm sure it will work itself out.

Heels!

They make my feet hurt, bleed, and everything else but I love them!

Fashion over comfort anyday!

I do think you're brave. :) I rarely wear 4 inch heels to work. I leave those for going out.

I know it wasn't the best idea ... but you have to understand that they are REALLY cute. I couldn't help myself. I'm sure I'll pay for it later today, though ...

And azaelia, you're probably right that stride length is my problem. I'll have to work on that.

I normally would have reserved them for going out, but they really went the best of any of my shoes with this outfit ... I did opt out of riding my bike today, though. Although I have ridden in heels before, I decided today wasn't the day for it.

uhoh...their cute heels...those are the worst because you just HAVE to have them, even if it means killing yourself while wearing them. i know those types alll too well.

[quote name='Carrie' date='Oct 10 2005, 08:57 AM']Do you have a spare pair of flip flops to change into in case your feet hurt?

Nope ... but I work a block from Parisian. If it becomes a real problem I can go over there. Or just walk around the office in my stocking feet.

I do that alot. But only in my office, where I know its clean. ^_^

Good choice on not riding the bike in 4 inch heels. I'm impressed that you've ever worn a bike in heels! You're crazy!

I have three pairs of sandals that I wore off and on through the summer, two of which have a couple inches of heel. The other pair is totally flat, and I bought it because I broke my toe and couldn't wear anything with any kind of heel for several weeks.

Usually I wear clogs or tennis shoes, or i have a couple pairs of very practical dress shoes I can wear with businessy outfits.
