ryanmeyersmusic
I don't believe that God has punished America or New Orleans with an attack or a hurricane. I do believe that suffering leads us to repentance, though. It's been a very difficult struggle in our area to ward off the "fire and brimstone" preachers convincing people that God wiped out our area because of (pick a card, any card) homosexuality, abortion, etc. Ultimately, we will realize that people are more important than things, and that God created nature, but doesn't use it to kill people that do things he doesn't like. That's a very primitive image of God, and unfortunate.
ryanmeyersmusic
AND Destroying someone else's property is wrong. Stealing is a mortal sin. There's no justification for these means, no matter what the end.
ryanmeyersmusic
is there a source for this article, anyway?

curtins
As much as I despise these stores and what they stand for I don't like people doing this in the name of Christ. Its not what He told us to do.

Though this article appears to be a hoax, there is nothing wrong with destroying pornography and other intrinsically immoral items. In fact, this is what the old catechism says should be done with such things if found.

I didn't know that
Of course, the law will still prosecute you. However, do you really think God wants us to "respect" that which is intrinscially immoral? Destroying pornography, sex-shop items, etc., is not only moral, it is virtuous. If you had the pornography/birth control pills/condoms/sex toys/etc., then, yes, it is virtuous to destroy that. You cannot break into someone else's property and destroy their pornography/etc.
photosynthesis
I would never break into a shop and destroy their merchandise, even if they were selling sex "products." However, I am known on my campus for destroying pro-choice and atheist propaganda that I find lying around. There is so much of it lying around, that sometimes I fill my backpack with planned parenthood paraphenallia! often professors will see me filling it up with stuff, and they no longer say anything. they just know. and they can't do anything about it because someone put them out on the free literature table with a sign that says "please take" i love destroying planned parenthood propaganda
