Faith vs Works

Hey, anyone remember this cheeky kid from the great south land (Australia )? I haven't been around here for aaaaaaages.

Anyway, I... have a question for all you cool Catholic peoples!

For a Bible College assignment, I have to analyse the supposed inconsistencies between Paul's theology of being saved by faith alone, and James' of being saved by faith+works; and the different ways people reconcile them both. I remember something like this coming up before here when I was around, so I was wondering if anyone is able to give me some info on how you guys look at it, or point me at some resources?

(If this is the wrong place to be posting this question, feel free to move it. The structure of this place has changed a bit since I was last around )

there are no inconsistencies. we simply have two people responding to each side [i][b]of the same coin[/b][/i]. faith and works are inseparable, and forcing a wedge between them is just another example of the "either/or" philosophy of protestantism, instead of the "both/and" philosophy of catholicism.

faith is obedient. faith [i][b]works[/b][/i]
