Cow of Shame
a lot of times however single people will buy them. its not a promise to marry anyone but a commitment to yourself and God not to partake in unchaste activity. it serves as a good reminder as to why you dont involve yourself in sexual activity outside of marriage. i feel like im not saying this the right way...
No, good explanation. The only reason I asked was 'cause they were getting them together...as if a matching set. It seemed very similar to promise rings, which someone else posted on. I think I was originally thinking of promise rings, and the way the original question was phrased got me mixed up between the two
popestpiusx
I've heard of fathers giving a chastity ring to their daughters when they get to a certain age. I think I like that.
franciscanheart
thats kinda cool.... if, that is, we're talking about the rings that go on your finger.
Totus Tuus
Well, I got the ring which I called my chastity ring for my First Communion from my aunt. It's gold, with a diamond heart on it. My fingers have only grown longer since then, so it still fits perfectly. When I decided on a religious vocation, I changed the name of it from my "Chastity" ring, to my "engagement" ring. Either way, the heart is a nice reminder of so many things... so I liked having the ring look that way.

RemnantRules
Oh and for Cow of Shame I needed to tell you that the difference of an Engagement Ring should be is when you wear that ring it means YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED. For a good healthy Catholic relationship it should signify that all your waiting for is a date and getting things planned. It's a DEF commitment. The others your making a promise for purity and for promise rings, I think their bull carp, but that's just me. God Bless Jason Gregory

Christie_M
I have a Chastity ring from purityrings.com it's AWESOME!! They have really good rings, plus they come with this little card which has a prayer in it. Very nice. Didacus
chastity rings are all fine and dandy, but if you want to go the distance may I suggest the chastity belts with an exchange of keys? it would actually be incentive not to break up as well as being faithful to your engagement because no one wants to pursue an ex to have their 'chastity key back'. Think about it... I'm certain you can get medevil style belts at your local corner store in the condom section.

We can't control ourselves so throw a leash on ourselves. Meg
