homeschoolmom
What about fast times at ridgemont high? That definitely shows the downside of not using protection.
AND it shows the downside of ordering pizza in class... Mickey's_Girl
HA HA Hsmom! I understand where the researchers are coming from (and applaud them!), but I don't see why they had to pick on James Bond. I ADORE James Bond, but I always think to myself, "Ew, how many diseases must that man have?!" I mean, clearly, if you'd slept with as many people as he has, you'd be in bad shape. The fact that he's not is just part of the fairy-tale myth. I've got news for you: if he'd had that many brushes with death, he'd actually be DEAD by now, too. And guess what? He hasn't aged much in FORTY YEARS. Amazing. TOTAL suspension of disbelief is necessary to watch James Bond movies. That's what makes them so fun. MilesChristi
i really need to see Requiem for a Dream, i heard its amazing
Yes! Requiem for a Dream is a very powerful movie. If you're interested in a movie which realistically depicts the negative consequences of sexual immorality, I'd recommend seeing "Closer," which starred Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman, and Clive Owen. This was one of my favorite movies of 2004. The four main characters swap back and forth, cheat on each other, lie, manipulate, etc. Unlike most Hollywood movies, which glorify this kind of stuff, "Closer" shows how its destroys lives. DeeDee
I really hate how movies always make it seem that once you have sex, you immediately want to smoke pot! track2004
Requiem and Closer are two great movies that show the down sides of drugs and sex, respecively. I really wonder what 87 movies they did screen, and if only 28 had sex sceens in them, how representative of the genereal industry is that. I mean they started out with 200 movies, got rid of the animated, G and PG ones (no sex in those), and of the ones that were left only 28 had sex in them. Most of those 28 had lots of sex in the, but still 28 outta 200...
God Conquers
Another movie that really shows the downside of sex and drug use is "Kids". Beware though, it is very raw. I love this:
The 1992 thriller Basic Instinct had six sex scenes, no birth control, and no public health consequences other than "death by ice pick."
