benedictaj
I'm planning to consecrate myself according to the de Montfort consecration for this Immaculate Conception (December 8) because my exams'll be over by then, so I'll have the time. Anyone wanna join me? We could get a bunch doing it.....I'm reading "True Devotion to Mary" and its really pretty awesome! Just a thought... the_rev
The family that I was with yesterday for supper helped me to start wearing the scapular again . I've only worn it now for a full day but it's a devotion I stopped when my old one broke. (i like the one mel gibson wears.) so i ordered another scapular like it however they gave me a scapular to wear for now. Going to the Tridentine mass now has really helped to increase my devotion and love for Mary and how much we need her. Consecrate your hear! Do it! I did both methods.... I consecrated myself on December 8th last year, and I'm entering the Poor Clares and renewing my Consecration on December 8th this year (actually, I believe December 8th is the day the whole Community of Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration renew their Consecration de Montfort together. How cool is that?)

As a matter of fact, they might also be drinking wine up there. After all, it was good enough for Jesus. I'd also mention that St. Louis is French.... My dad and I brew beer together as a hobby, and I just have a thing for oat beers because they're not too hoppy As for wine... well, I don't think St. Louis would mind a beer. photosynthesis
the priest that says mass on my campus has made the Kolbean and de Montfort consecrations and he says there's nothing wrong with living out both consecrations...and that they compliment each other really well. He said the de Montfort consecration is more intense in terms of preparation, and that the consecration is more of a private thing. Kolbean consecration involves enrollment in the Militia Immaculata, and it's lived out in union with this community. Both seem pretty awesome! memtherose - I really want to consecrate my heart to Our Lady on December 8th too, so I am definitely interested in doing it with you. I just finished "The Secret of the Rosary" (a wonderful and inspirational little book by St. Louis de Montfort and now I'm reading "True Devotion to Mary." After that I'll do the 33-day preparation period and consecrate my heart to Our Lady on the feast of the Immaculate Conception, at my local parish (Immaculate Conception Church). woohoo! I'm really excited about it.

photosynthesis
wow, that sounds pretty intense! I wasn't planning on doing anything like that but now that you mention it, it probably wouldn't be such a bad idea. I could give up the internet, or maybe video games, or sleeping in on the weekends / days when i don't have morning classes...
