Elmhurst College... There is not an internet link to the article, but if you want to write a lovely letter to the editor, I can send it in for ya! The website for the paper hasn't been updated in about a year...

check out the school's page: www.elmhurst.edu
the paper's page: www.elmhurstleader.com

I hate this school so much. So VERY much... It makes me want to cry...
I cannot believe I am continuing my second year here.

My college paper recently ran an article which advocated women's ordination.

To the newspaper's credit, they also printed my op/ed column which refuted it. ;)

Anti-Catholicism is the only form of prejudice and biogtry that is socially acceptable. It disgusts me. I want to write something back, but my gosh, what do I say? I might end up calling him a freakin' idiot!!! (As nice as that would be for me, it would be quite uncharitable)

Our school wouldn't even think of doing something like that... It is a United Church of Christ affiliated school (Which explains just about EVERYTHING wrong with the school) and it is also in a very progressve/liberal area, and I mean PROGRESSIVE/LIBERAL.
There are VERY few that go to the school that are like me in this way...

I want to transfer out of here lickety split. Better yet, enter the Cloister. End of story.

Well, after a while, you learn that colleges are notoriously liberal. My school's newspaper, The Spectrum is basically rubbish. Especially last year with all the political stuff... Every week they have a political issue and have a debate. They usually find a centrist to write the Republican view of things. This last issue, one of my friends wrote the republican view of stuff, since he was fed up with the carp that paper usually publishes.

One good thing, a crappy paper means I waste less time reading it and more time reading better stuff, like the textbooks and assignments! ;)

Man o man... things keep getting worse and worse...
To the entire Campus Community
all Students, Faculty, Staff and Administrators,

At the National Synod Assembly of the United Church of Christ (UCC)
this past summer,
that denomination voted to recognize marriage equity (Same Sex
marriage) formally as a national church policy thus becoming the
first denomination to allow for marriage as defined by the church for
men and men and women and women.

In light of this decision and as Elmhurst College is closely related to
the UCC, I have invited regional staff representatives of the UCC
and two voting delegates to join the Elmhurst College community to hear
what was voted on and why. This informational gathering is to
allow many in our campus community to listen and ask questions about
what has occurred.

Please join this one hour gathering
on Wednesday
Oct. 5
4pm to 5pm
Founder's Lounge of the Frick Center
If you have questions or concerns please contact my office
and with God's rich blessings,
I am faithfully yours,

H. Scott Matheney +

I always up for good reading, but I must admit some things are better left unread. Might be best then that I can't read the trash in paper 'cause the lettering is too small for my aging eyes.

We are the common target these days... why? Because of all groups in the industrialized world, we are the only noticeable one that actually stands strong before the truth! Keep up the good work people, love you all!

Stand tall, be strong, be faithful!

"Asinine" does not begin to describe this carp.

Seriously, why do you go attend this college? Your money might be better spent elsewhere.
