"Daytime" medicine

Recommended Posts

Okay... so... Yesterday it was beautiful and sunny... Today it's about twenty degrees colder and raining. Weather like this always effects my sinuses in a horrific way-- Major sinus headache. So, I take my "Daytime cold and allergy medicine" knowing full well it will make me feel better, but still make me sleepy.

I am soooooo not prepared for today. In fact. I am typing with my eyes closed... I'm so tired. The only think that keeps me awake is the fear of what my house would look like if I let the three little ones run it for a day!!!!

Why can't they make a good cold medicine that doesn't cause drowsiness??

ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz....

[quote name='Carrie' date='Sep 28 2005, 08:39 AM']Same thing happens to me.  Just about any kind of medicine makes me sleepy, so I try not taking anything unless I absolutely must.

I don't usually. I'm only just starting to get back into the realization that they make medicines-- after a several year hiatus during prenancy and nursing (when I don't take much of anything).

I'm not much of a pill popper...

The medical community is full of shames. Thus I try and stay away from it.

Example:

Our "Pro Life" & "Pro NFP" doctor went on and on about tests to see if wanted a termenation...

I nearly fell out of my seat.

Although I do like sudaffed on some mornings, espcially when I am Kansas, but still try and stay away as long as possible.

Are you talking about the Down's syndrome test? I can't remember its name...

When I was prenant the first time, my dr. said that by law he had to tell me about the test but he highly discouraged taking it.

The second time, he reminded me about the test and he again reminded me of why it was a bad test.

The third time he didn't even mention it. I wonder if he didn't have to. Laws change, I guess.

Oh I hope that is the case, that it is by law he must tell me.

If that is the case, what a poopy law.

It is about as poopy as daytime medicine, nay tis more poopy.

In some states the test is required. I guess just chalk it up to loopy lawmakers.

2 things:

1. My doctor told me about those tests too (he goes to my Church), but it wasn't to encourage me to have an abortion if they were positive, it was so that I could make any preparations that I would need to make. For instance, it is much easier to take courses and get information on care if you don't have the baby already.

2. As for the cold medicine... Poor you!! I have been lucky in that I can take daytime stuff and it keeps me awake.... I will pray for you!

[quote name='Theoketos' date='Sep 28 2005, 07:37 AM']I hear that cocaine keeps you awake and clears your sinus headaches...but then again it ruins your life.

Sigmound Freud partook in "nose candy" quite regularly. It didn't ruin his life.

Psudoeffedrine (the active ingredient) is now by prescription only in Oregon. :sadder:

I feel sorry for the babies who are aborted because they have health problems or are mentally disabled....

Actually I feel sorry for all aborted babies....and their mothers.
