theculturewarrior
I am easily discouraged. In fact, I'm pretty passive. It's a character flaw. Every time I had requested information from an order or from the Diocese, I was rejected or ignored. So I started thinking it wasn't meant to be. They don't want me! I had seen couples walking around my neighborhood, and I told God, "I miss that. I want to be a couple again." And then I started thinking I might like to get married. I started praying for "her." I have been praying the Liturgy of the Hours. I started in August, and it is part of my daily "routine" now. (You can't really call the Liturgy "routine.") It is Heaven on Earth, and when I pray, I feel so close to God that I think I might float up to Heaven. And I started thinking, "I could be happy for the rest of my life just praying." And I started to wonder if I would have this joy if I had a family. And I realized that I could devote my whole life to prayer if I joined an order. I've been confused about this for a long time. There is an answer on the Horizon though. If I am called to the religious life, I will be very persistent. If St. Therese can do it, so can I! Please pray for me, for discernment. PedroX
TCW, Don't be discouraged. Diocesean Vocation Directors have a lot on their plate. Most work in a parish as well as in Vocations. Be persistent until God closes the door. my morning prayer here at the seminary will be dedicated to your intentions tomorrow. peace...

theculturewarrior
It turned out that the Vocation Director for the order I'm interested in was studying in Rome. One of the friars emailed me back and said he would be coming back soon. Thank you all for the prayers! :
Theoketos
This is the song that cements vocations. http://www.nyackalum.com/music/how_beautiful.mp3 I am praying for you. Maybe one day you could work in the ultra awesome Vatican Archives. That would be awesome.
Totus Tuus
I'm not sure which "How Beautiful" that is ( if there is more than one) because I couldn't get it to play. Is it the one that says how beautiful the hands that serve the wine and the bread to the sons of the earth? I love that song.

theculturewarrior
I could be happy for the rest of my life just praying and writing. I don't need to join an order, or marry, or become a priest. I am happy.
