Dreamweaver
Bah! I'm just a stone's throw away from Minnesota (maybe a bit farther than that and we didn't get any sort of rain/storm/power outage. I feel cheated!

homeschoolmom
How bad is it at your house? My mom's huge maple tree lost a huge limb and it landed in her evergreen. I think some of the neighbors are going to take care of it today (ie cutting and removing the wood). She wants me to go up there and check out her roof and help her pick up the thousand or so twigs. She's still without electricity.

The neighbors around have big trees down, oaks and pines (glad my pine didn't come down. It would have landed on my car AND van and it's big.). I notice to that we are the only neighborhood with power this side of brookdale right here. The neighbors behind our house don't have electricity yet, nor od they a block south and a block west. I feel very fortunate. Thanks Lord. I've seen three cars close by that were totaled by trees falling in on them and quite a few houses are damaged by trees falling on them. Carrie
In my day, we just brought candles to school with us when the power was off. None of this pish-posh cancelling of schools just because there's no electricity.
Bet you hiked 3 miles to school everyday with no shoes too...
