Drunk Driving Suspected in Seminarian Deaths

I was very careful about naming this thread. In fact, it was originally entitled "Drunk Driving the Cause...", but I realized that the article was itself careful to note "alleged", so I made the appropriate changes, to "Suspected".

I respect that there are Phatmassers closely related to this story, but it's still valid news. If nobody here had any relation to the story, nobody would have batted an eye.

The main reason I posted it was because prayers are needed. Whether the driver was drunk or not (and even if he was, it doesn't mean the two men who died were also drunk), it's sad that this has all happened. Seminarians can make mistakes too. Hopefully, if he is charged, the truth will come forward, whatever it may be.

It just goes to show how people react differently when it is someone they know, or someone in a position that they admire. Eventually the full facts will be known, but until then all we can do is pray.

I"m new to this forum. Matty, one of the seminarians who died in the car crash was a dear friend of mine. If any of you have time, read to blog...
www.xanga.com/jpthe2nd His funeral was this past Monday. There were 83 priests, 3 bishops, and the priest who delivered the homily flew all the way from rome!! There were about 1200 at the Mass. Matty and I and two other guys were in a band for a while..the two other guys and I had the honor of assisting with the music. Please keep both families and the seminary in your prayers. peace.

Thank you for this information, and welcome to phatmass. I'll definitely continue praying for Matty, Jared and all those involved, and for the seminary.

these stories are confusing- can someone clarify?

Is this what happened? 4 seminarians- at least 1 alledgedly drunk (the driver) crashed the car into the tree. 2 died, 2 survived. The driver is now facing charges. its just real confusing

continued prayers
