Isaiah41:13
I've was baptized Catholic and made my first Communion, but I was never confirmed into the church because my mother refuses to let my brother or I be confirmed. My dad takes my brother and I to church every Sunday, but obeys our mother's refusal in allowing us to be confirmed. I'm in college now and have a couple questions, but am not sure how to ask them to the Priest there. I've been asked a couple times to enter training to become a Eucharistic Minister or Reader at school, but have declined because I don't know if you have to be confirmed in order to do that. Do you? Secondly, I want to make my confirmation. Do I have to go through RCIA or something similar? Thanks and Blessings
Pio Nono
JMJ 9/20 - St. Andrew Kim Taegon Isaiah41:13, I don't believe that one MUST be confirmed to be a reader or an extraordinary Eucharistic minister. If you want to be confirmed, go talk to your Campus Ministry department; you might have to go through RCIA or something similar, depending on the amount of religious instruction you've had in the past. I would also recommend looking for a solid Catholic parish in the town which you live, if that is an option. Hope this helps.
