Halo 2 is really starting to bug me

yeah I've basically lost 3/5 of all games played in the last two weeks

I went from a 23 all the way down to a 20 currently at a low 21

its really REALLY ticking me off

I really hate playing FPS games with a controller, give me a mouse and keyboard anyday.

I prefer no shields, extra damage, only human weapons.

Oh, and Perfect Dark was awesome. Halo doesn't have bots!

Ah, I've started playing again on live after a long break. I've lost some of my shine. One game (team slayer on foundation), we were ahead 49 to 48, the other team pulled a standby (major form of cheating) and ending up winning.

[url="http://www.canmag.com/news/4/22/310"]Canmag.com[/url] has an article that talks about what standby is. Posting links like this on Bungie's forum is a bannable offense, but I trust that you won't do this kind of cheating.

Anyway, some routers/cable modems have a standby button which disconnects it from the internet. While disconnected, the standbyer can run around and kill people/steal flags while all the other players are in the "blue screen". Its becoming less common than it used to, since standbying can be detected and then you'll be less likely to become host. I think that if you're xbox is hosting the game, the cheat will work.

Oh yeah, just because you go in the blue screen doesn't mean the other team is cheating. It'll happen when it lags or other people quit out. Other tell-tale signs of standbying are the timer stopping prior to the blue screen, and the cheater's actions are really jerky and weird, perhaps running into the wall repeatedly.

I'm running out of patience though! and I'm starting to take it out on my team mates which isnt good- I just gotta calm down. and relax but its frustrating! ahh!!!

oh and I hate standbying- good thing they pretty much got rid of it

If you get to the point where Halo is making you angry, its best to put the controller down, turn off the Xbox and do something else enjoyable. Go for a walk outside, get some fresh air, check Phatmass, maybe do some reading. I've noticed personally that if I'm tense while playing, I gradually get worse and worse.

my name on halo 2 is OverKill210 i am a legend on that game......joke.
When the game first came out i swear i never lost. I had a good team goin for a while.........at one point we won like 20 straight games.

keep in mind this is the new ladder. I quit careing about the game along time ago. I wish bungie kept up with stats like head shots and stuff........ i ususually get like 10-20 head shots a game. You cant take me with snipers or battle rifles........I usually get killed by 10 year olds with duel wielding.....lol. Halo is so much better than Halo 2. Halo is by far the best first person shooter ever made. I am the man with the pistol.........i used to play with these guys that went to tournaments in chicago and stuff........they ranked 3rd nationally in halo 1. I was no where near as good as them cuz they always killed you in 3 shots with the pistol and always got you no scoping with the sniper no matter where they were or how far away they were from you.
