I've heard Scott and Kimberly Hahn speak. He is really a dynamic speaker. Since he used to be a firey preacher, now he's on fire for the Truth, and you definitely get enthused listening to him, even if it's just on a cassette tape.

Kimberly is thoughtful and thought-provoking as well. The daughter of a protestant minister and wife of a former protestant minister, she is very astute with the Bible references.

Pax Christi.

Ellenita! You're in London?! When you're at Westminster Cathedral bookstore pick up a copy of The Mystery of Love by Cardinal Hume. It's a short and simple, yet profound little book. It's about 5 stlg. so it won't break the bank either! He has some other great stuff of course, but start with that one!

Westminster Cathedral is one of my favorite places in the whole world. It was there that I prayed for God's will for my vocation, and for my future husband. After many hours there I met him! (It's a loooong story, but I'll share if ya wanna know!).

As for Scott Hahn, Lord, Have Mercy is also wonderful, it's about confession.

Ok, it's late and I have to run. May God bless you on your journey of faith! Birgitta

Hee Hee :D I will JMJ, but not tonight I have to be up in less than 6 hours for a TB test for my new job and I have to look sparkling, because then I have to be on TV. Bah, dumb job, glad Weds is my last day! My life is crazy this week so if I don't do it by Thurs when I leave for vacation would you mind reminding me?

Hmmm, as for prayers, no real specific ones. More like just trying to seek out the will of God, and give it over to him. Not easy!

Much Love, Birgitta

I've _First Comes Love_ and _The Lamb's Supper_ both of which, while not theological masterpieces, are excellent. Hahn will be remembered for his skill at explaining theology to the laity; I really expect these books to become classics.

Brigitta, I can't wait to hear your story either! :D

I'll look out for Cardinal Hume's book. I always had a great deal of respect for him - he spoke with such wisdom and was an incredibly humble man.

I do live in London, but have only been to Westminister Cathedral a couple of times. I love it's simplicity - it's so beautiful and I have always felt an incredible sense of God's peace there.

Well, I listen to him on EWTN on "Our Fathers Plan" and Catholicity has his conversion on tape, so I have listened to him speak. But I can't say I've read his books!

*I brought an old thread back to life hehehehe*

THe laity are the ones who need theology in simple terms.
