Well, I found out some good news on the school that I want to apply for. (Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio.) I'm really excited, and I know I have an excellent shot in getting in...Even if my parents say no.

If it's God's Will let it be done.

First, I just have to get through my ACT again. Whoohoo!

For juniors going to be seniors next year.
Keep your grades up, because it does matter! :D:
Yay for good grades.

It's ok to be smart. :D:

For those like me, who are smart, but don't test well, keep prepping for the ACT or SAT. If you don't do well, I will admit, the first time I took it I didn't prepare as much as I would have liked, I got an 18, it's ok. I'm not the greatest taker, but keep practicing and trying, because colleges can over look it.

YAY!!! :D:

haha i'm the opposite of you

My grades are eh...but i test well
Right now i have straight A's and 2 C's :( but my school is like the hardest private school EVER haha.
I'm taking a princeton review course in prep. for the SAT, hope it works... I feel honored though b/c they only offered the course to a few people who they thought had a shot of becoming national merit.

Whoa, I haven't posted here in a LONG time...

Anyways... I just had an interview today with my FUS admissions counselor. :) The only problem is that my parents really don't want me to go there b/c it's so far from home and so expensive. :( But I really want to go to Franciscan. Anyone have any advice?

OH WOW!!!
Dude, that is my life!!!!!!!
EXACTLY!!!!

Yeah, my mom is freaking out because I want to go to FUS. I still need to visit.
I live in Minnesota. I mean, Ohio is less than a days drive away.
I mean, if I beleive it can happen, it is not impossible.
If it is God's Will for me to attend FUS, then FUS I must.
I still need to apply.
My mom is going to freak.
I always wondered this....
What if I get accepted into FUS, but not my other top three schools....(That would be awesome!!!!!!) :D: :topsy:

Ok, I talked to someone about this exact same situation.
I heard a story about this saint. She wanted to go to the convent, but her dad started to freak out. Anyway, she kept praying about it, and eventually, even though her family didn't want to enter the convent, they accepted it, and learned to let her go.
What I am trying to say is, keep praying about it. Remember, it's not our will, but His be done.
I hope I helped.
If it is God's Will, then your parents will accept, even though they are not to happy about it.
Just like my parents having me join NET.
I may do that after college.
Go to daily Mass and daily visits to perpetual Adoration.

God Bless You!

My parents will freak out if I go to Los Angeles for college, and it's only like two hours away from home (San Diego.) So you can imagine just how freaked out they are about me wanting to go to Ohio.

That'd be awesome if I only got accepted into FUS, LOL. My parents would make me go there for sure! :D: I'm applying to at least 7 schools, though, and I'm already guaranteed admission into San Diego State b/c of a deal it made with my district. But my FUS admissions counselor said they could accept me now just based on my GPA and test scores, so I'm pretty much guaranteed admission into FUS too. :)

Now I just have to convince my parents to let me go to FUS... I guess I'll just have to keep praying and looking for financial aid. I can't do anything about the distance after all, LOL. Maybe if I get enough financial aid for my parents to pay very little, they'll let me go to FUS? :)

Well, thanks for the advice! ^_^

God Bless!
ummm i found out today that my GPA is 85.5, and i am 205 out of 340 in my class ummmm

i was sure that even with Honors and AP weights added on, a GPA couldn't be higher than a 6...

but then again every school system is different. i'm applying to Franciscan since i lived there for 10 years, and would be devastated if i had to go somewhere else.
