Brother Adam
Even Oik here from Phatmass dropped Greek (as did I). The class went from 14 to 5 as of today. I stuck it out as long as I could handle it, but yet the teacher assumes the student already knows Latin. There is only one person in the class who does indeed know Latin who is excelling in the class. 4 more who are trying to keep going. I know Greek is really tough, but it seems like he is making it alot worse than it needs be. Oh well. I'll have to learn by self study instead. Era Might
Two good books you can use to teach yourself are "Elements of NT Greek" by JW Wenham and "Basics of Biblical Greek" by William Mounce. I have Wenham's book, which is a pretty slim volume. It also comes with a CD-ROM. I have Mounce's book for Hebrew, but not Greek. Jimmy Akin has recommended him in the past, though, so I know it's a good resource. The book also comes with a CD-ROM, and you can purchase a workbook separately. A good piece of advice I read in the past is the best way to learn Greek is to read the NT. Koine Greek isn't very extensive, so once you get down the basic vocabulary, you should be able to get through the NT in a decent manner. If you want to teach yourself Latin, as well, Wheelock's is considered the standard. Edited September 14, 2005 by Era Might

man you should've asked me for advice. I took Latin in grade 9 and I HATED it, I mean it's a beautiful language, but I definitely couldn't handle it. Though if you learn Latin well, it'll be easier to learn other languages (romance). Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
for sure. it is really hard. all we do in class is laugh. the teacher is really not very smart. she can't remember anyones latin names. 1/4 of the class is wasted because she is always like: yes you have a question. whats ur name? o wait don't tell me..... its hilarious. and than there is this one girl who is really neverous about latin and she always asks questions. also funny. very frantic but its very funny and uneducational.
