zunshynn
I think I know what my project is going to be! My paper is going to be on the development and role of the consecrated religious in the Catholic Church. I think for my physical project I am going to do a documentary on nuns. I am so excited! Anybody know of any good religious communities in california? And do you think cloistered nuns would be willing to have me interview them for the video? All For Jesus
Neat topic! I know of some wonderful sisters in California. Have you ever heard of the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart in Los Angeles? Here is their webpage: http://carmelitegeneralate.homestead.com/ Also, there is a Carmelite Monastery in Georgetown...I don't know their webpage address, but I can find it for you. Hope this helps some.

Sixtina87
how about the Sisters of Nazareth??? they are a great up-beat community and the vd will talk to any one. Their mission is working with the elderly and some are teachers and they do other things. but they are most popular for their houses for the elderly. Piccoli Fiori JMJ
hmm is interviewing cloistered nuns allowed?
You'd have to talk to Mother Abbess about that... I know the Mother for the Monastery here in Rockford for the Poor Clare Colettines (Cloistered) allowed reporters to take photographs of them for the Diocean paper and also for a local paper. It all depends on Mother Abbess though I know that the Poor Clares dreaded the photo sessions, but it was just another thing to offer up... Give Mother Abbess a call
jiyoung
I third the Carmelites of the Sacred Heart of Los Angeles. I'm going up to stay with them for a weekend soon, perhaps at the end of the month...they're awesome
Susan
HOw about the Dominican Nuns in Menlo Park CA or in LA? Of course, if you are only going to interview cloistered nuns who wear the old veil, than you wouldn't want them, I guess. They are both lovely sisters. They have websites but I don't know them off hand. I think it depends on the community and the superior.
